Hearts take one

In honor of Valentines Day and for something fun to do, we are going to do some "hair hearts".

First, start out with a ponytail from the part to the ear. Then tie a ribbon around the elastic. After I did this, I realized it was a waste of time because it fell out and I had to retie it. Forget what I said, just do the ponytail.

Then, flip the hair in a knot. Not one so the hair goes back on the head, but forward so it defies nature or gravity or something.

THEN tie the ribbon on. I promise, it's easier this way.

Now, split the ponytail in two and coat each side with gel or pomade and wrap the ribbon around like so (you want to make sure your ribbon is loooonnngggg. You want the ribbon to come up UNDER the sides...you will see why later. Wrap the ribbon around as far down as you can and secure with an elastic.

Now, ignore those for a minute. Part the rest of the hair in half and pull each side into a ponytail. The one underneath your ribbon wrapped hair, leave down, the one on the other side, only pull halfway through the last time you pull it through the elastic.

Now, have another elastic ready. Pull the two ribbon wrapped pieces into a heart with the bottom on the ponytail. Like so.

Secure them to the ponytail with an elastic. I didn't bother taking the elastics off the end of the wrapped peices. Who knows if the elastics would pop at dance class? I don't want to take any chances and I REALLY don't want to have to re-wrap her hair.

Make sure on that last pull through, you only pull it through half-way.

Tie the ends of your ribbon around the elastic and into a bow, and then tie another ribbon around the elastic on the other side

Like so.

Now curl those ends under and fluff them.

Voila...a heart! Can you see the reason the ribbon needed to go the way it did? It holds the curves on the top of the heart.

Fan Pix of J.Lo @ Gay Pride

Here is another story we have from a fan that had the chance to see Jennifer Lopez perform at the Gay Pride Parade in New York City back in 2006. They included a short story and some pictures they took from the show.
Sorry guys we had to tag these with our tag as well as the donors name. Some of you know why, but anyway we will try to stay a tag free blog as much as we can.
If you use our pictures, use our picture links, if you use our stories or info, give credit.

Summary from awhile back on the night of Gay Pride
SO EFFING HOT!

I'm still reeling from an OOBE (out-of-body-experience). The sensation is only beginning to come back to my hands and feet. The ringing in my ears is subsiding.

Miss Jennifer Lopez, La Gran Diva from the BX, exploded on to the stage at the Heritage of Pride Dance on the Pier. Rumors were going around that she was going to be the surprise guest at the show, and sho'nuff at 10:30pm she did her damn thing.

James and I were fortunate enough to be super close to the stage (as you can see from the pix above). It's been an incredible night.

Poul to direct J.Lo movie for CBS Films

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 2 (UPI) -- U.S. television director-producer Alan Poul is in final negotiations to direct "Plan B," a romantic comedy starring Jennifer Lopez, CBS Films said Monday.

Poul's small-screen credits include "Swingtown," "Big Love" and "Six Feet Under."

His expected participation in "Plan B" was announced Monday by Amy Baer, president and chief executive officer of CBS Films, a division of the CBS Corp. (NYSE:CPV)

Set to begin filming in May, the movie is scheduled to open in theaters in January 2010. It will be CBS Films' first release and will mark Poul's feature directing debut.

Written by Kate Angelo, "Plan B" is about a single woman (Lopez) who turns to artificial insemination to answer her ticking clock, only to see her back-up plan turned upside down when the man of her dreams shows up at the same time as her positive pregnancy test results. Casting for the male lead is currently under way, CBS Films said.

"Alan's impressive body of work reflects his ability to depict relatable characters in unexpected circumstances," Baer said in a statement. "Kate's script combines laugh-out-loud physical humor with genuine emotion. We think Alan's fresh vision is the perfect match to Kate's fresh voice."

J.Lo & Ryan Leslie Team Up...

Ryan Leslie is here for a recording session (and our interview). And though the 30-year-old singer and producer won't leave this room for eight hours (today he's working on songs for Jennifer Lopez), he's in the middle of a show. “When this thing is on, which it always is, I'm on stage." The "thing" Leslie is referring to is a video camera -- Leslie films his every waking moment. The edited footage is posted on YouTube, where you can see him crafting all the tracks that will appear on his forthcoming debut self-titled LP, due out in February.

Leslie's inexhaustible energy has always needed big outlets. He went to Harvard at age 15 after scoring a 1600 on the SATs. While studying, he also taught himself music production. After graduation, he discovered and steered the career of Cassie, and the women and breakups that ensued fuel most of his new album. Take "I.R.I.N.A," a song Leslie says is about post-breakup depression. The "Irina" of that song is model Irina Sheik, just one of several models Leslie's been linked to. But he bristles at the idea of filming these much-filmed women: "Oh ... no!" He smiles. "We don't film after the date is over."

Here is what the writer had to say about him after meeting him for their interview.

"I talked to Ryan Leslie for Paper Magazine. I met him at a studio while he was working on tracks for Jennifer Lopez. His shoes were nice. He insists on dressing up to record in a studio, which I think is really funny."

'Like I Never Left' - This Year's Top R&B/Pop Comebacks

Now that we’ve covered a few of 2009's most anticipated comeback albums, especially those from T-Boz, Kelly Price and Silk, it’s time for part 2 of ‘Like I Never Left’.

Keeping in mind that we’ve got some ways to go, let’s dig right into more anticipated releases including the return of entertainment diva Jennifer Lopez and the long-awaited return of Maxwell!

“On The 6,” “This Is Me... Then,” “Rebirth,” and “Brave” are all albums that have been released since Jennifer Lopez hit the scene in 1999 so it seems fitting, 10 years later, that she release a Greatest Hits album right?

According to Jennifer Lopez and Bryan Michael Cox, who spoke with Singersroom in November, Jennifer Lopez is doing just that.

Instead of releasing a normal Greatest Hits project, the former “If You Had My Love” singer is coming strong with a few new singles including a Bryan Michael Cox tinged cut, with hopes that she’ll reignite the fire she once had on the charts.

While little is known about Lopez’s “Greatest Hits” effort, sources believe the effort will allow Lopez to mount a comeback of sorts since her last album “Brave (2007)” was graded less than stellar. The effort, which was led by the single “Do It Well,” was given a C rating at Entertainment Weekly where Jonathan Bernstein wrote “Expensive beats and uplifting material are offset by listless vocals”.

Jennifer Lopez’s “Greatest Hits” is slated to hit stores sometime this Spring.

With J. Lo coming back in the spring, her once chart-topping and red carpet rival (sans an attempt at a dress similar to J.Lo’s much-talked-about red carpet gown a few years back) Toni Braxton is also readying a serious comeback after having a stellar 2008.
