Nicole by OPI Love Your Life and Let's Get Star-ted

I got these a while back at Walmart because I have a weakness for glitter and impulse buys.  They look great in the bottle huh?  I was just going to Let's get Star-ted at first but the hearts just called my name :)

Purchased at: Don't remember but they were $6-7/each. Not exactly cheap.  You can get this at Walmart and Target as well as other drugstores I'm sure.

Packaging: Bottle is a cool shape.  Kind of like a sphere squashed on one side :]   The brush is rather unusual though - very wide and flat with the tip cut in a V-shape (though my shitty macro shot does little to show that).  The tip of the V is to "place" the huge stars and hearts onto your nail....which brings me to the formula....

Formula: ....since the idea is more to "place" the large glitter pieces onto your nail rather than brush them on, this formula does not glide no matter how you play with it.  It goops, clumps, and dries gloopy - it's too viscous!  It's almost a gel rather than a liquid.   If you look at the Let's Get Star-ted nails below, you can see how friggin gloopy it dries :\  It also dries slowly...very slowly.

Removal is pretty easy though :)  All you do is hold a cotton pad to it, the "color" of the heart or star will turn silver, and you can just gently peel it off your nail. It's a fairly painless process.

Overall
As cute as the finished look is it's SUCH a pain to fish those glitter flecks out then place it nicely on your nail before it hardens.  If you move it around too much the clear part of the formula starts "rolling up."    Also the little glitter sprinkles are essentially useless even though it does look nice in the bottle.  Application is a pain but removal is easy.   Surprisingly, I liked how Love Your Life turned out more even though I like stars more in general.  I think it's because the Let's Get Star-ted formula was even more viscous than the Love Your Life - I hated the way the final look dried in clear bumps and waves :\  Also the tips of the stars curl up a little so you do have to use a top coat (I didn't feel like it) if you don't want the tips of the stars folding up.

Overall, these were fun to play with but the formula got on my nerves so much that I just returned both.  I think these would be fun for a once in a while play, but it's not something I'll miss that much.

Review: NYC Liquid Lip Shine in Fashion Avenue Fuschia

This was something PDXbeautiful (hi Julie ^^v) sent in the swap we did awhile back.  My experience with drugstore lip products have been on the lukewarm at best so I was really surprised how good this product turned out :D

Purchased at: N/A but you can get it most drugstores.  I've seen these at Walmart :)  According to the NYC website, it's priced somewhere around $2.49.

Packaging: Pretty decent, though nothing to write home about.  One thing I don't like very much is the applicator though:

It's basically....a flat stick. The shape makes it difficult to apply the color evenly on your lips.  All it can be used for is getting the color out of the tube onto your lips - after that you need to find another way to even out the color :\  It's small complaint though, you can rub your lips together and use a Q-tip for the bits that go outside the edges of your lips.

Pigmentation: The pigmentation is insane. It's like lipstick rather than a gloss!  It's great and I love the small purple microglitters in it.

Lasting power: Really good!  It lasts all day for me and through a meal.  The glossiness fades after a few hours but the color stains your lips for rest of the day.

This is my hand after washing it with soap and water - not bad at all yeah?!  And no worries about lingering staining, it comes off after a bit more washing and wiping with a tissue.

Scent: Like artificial vanilla.  It's not bad though and pretty tolerable.  It's definitely not as bad as other drugstore lip products.  People who are strongly adverse to fragranced products may still not like it though.

Formula: The great formula really surprised me!  It's totally non-sticky, smooth, richly pigmented and long-lasting.  The fake vanilla scent isn't very strong so to me it's not a big deal.   This is also remarkably hydrating - it doesn't dry out my lips and the color tends to fill in fine lines rather than emphasize them. Overall, this is a great formula and the best drugstore lip color that I've tried so far.

This is 2nd only to my all time favorite Etude House Dear Darling glosses.  Honestly, it's a bit like comparing apples to oranges though because this one has such crazy pigmentation.  Both are useful for different things - this one is best worn alone I think!

I love how it stains my lips pink all day.  Fyi though - if you don't smooth out the color after you blob it on with the crappy applicator, the color will look goopy (like in the center pic).

Overall
Highly recommended.  I use this quite often as it's easy to apply and and long-lasting.  It's one of my Top 5 favorite lip products and I like how it's easy to get and only $2.49! I would say that this product does everything it claims - great pigmentation and shine, hydration, creamy texture, and non-sticky.  The fact that there are 10 colors available is nice too - a good range of wearable colors.  This is my first NYC product and I am very impressed indeed.

Review: L'Oreal Hip Duo Crystal Shadow in Darling

L’Oreal HIP Studio Secrets Professional Crystal Shadow Duos line is one of the most popular drugstore eyeshadows. I'm not entirely sure why, but I'll get into that later.

Cost: $8 @ Walmart (& other drugstores). Damn pricey for two drugstore shadows.

Packaging: It's interesting packaging, but also clunky. I don't know why they had to devote a whole separate section for one sponge tip.  The plastic also feels a little flimsy and light.  On the upside, it stays closed and I have no problems with it popping open and spilling shadow fallout everywhere (which it has plenty of).

Texture: Picking it up is a problem, it's very prone to fallout.  Sponges or fingers work better than brushes in this case honestly.  I usually just use sponge tips anyway ^^  However, once you get it onto your skin it's pretty easy to blend and leaves a silky sheen.  However, there is so much fallout!  Just look at my finger swatches and the powder around the edges of the palette in the first picture :\!

Staying Power: Too bad the lasting powder is...bad. Worse than the creamy Almay palette I think.  I don't wear UDPP or shadow bases unless I'm doing something dramatic and these fade very quickly - under 2 hours I'd say. Drugstore shadows certainly don't have the lasting power of upper-end brands like Urban Decay and MAC (and they shouldn't be expected to), but Maybelline and Almay palettes last a respectable 4-5 hours without primers and a good 6-7 hours with a primer.   A shadow that fades under 2 hours is ridiculous.

Colors/Pay-Off: Good, initially. Overall, the colors are very dupable though, look below and you can see it's pretty similar to the Almay intense iColor trio.  The brown in L'Oreal is a tad darker with less shimmer.  As for the L'Oreal beige, it's more sheer than Almay with less shimmer.

Blendability: Blends decently enough but you're dealing with so much fallout it's hard to appreciate this.

Good:
- Good color pay off, initially.
- Blends decently enough.
- Very pretty sheen.
- Very creamy and smooth.

Bad:
- Lots of fallout :P So powdery.
- Not long-lasting.
- Clunky packaging.
Overall
All that said, I may have picked a bad duo.  There's only one review for Darling and it was hated :\ but other color duos have more love.  Personally, I will never re-purchase this duo (I'd return it if I didn't lose the receipt) and I probably won't ever try other duos in this line.  $8 for just 2 colors isn't enough for me to bother :P

Other Hip Duo reviews: Musings of a Muse (really good review), Disflylatina

Review: Almay Intense iColor in Trio of Browns + Get OPI Black Shatter!

Excellent pics from A is for Awesome (colors are so accurate).

This was my first eyeshadow palette, so I have a soft spot for it :D This is the Almay Intense iColor in Trio of Browns, from their series that targets specific eye colors. The one above is the current version of the palette I have and I haven't tried the "new" version so I don't know if there has been any formula changes since.

This is my (crazy old) version :}  I still like it a lot though....yah for shadows not having expiration dates :D I forgot about it for awhile but I've dug it up recently and been playing with the lovely peach-beige color on top :D  It's really good as a subtle inner eye highlighter for yellow-toned peeps especially. It reminds me strongly of a very shimmery (and slightly more powder-y) version of Rock & Republic Caret actually.

Cost: $6-7 @ drugstores

Packaging: Pretty good, remarkably sturdy.  The new packaging looks pretty similar to the old one, except it's a lot prettier with that sweet embossing. I wish it came with another sponge tip though, since there are three colors and only one sponge.

Texture: Very creamy and smooth.  Better than Maybelline Quads I'm surprised to say.  Essentially no fallout though it clumps if you try to pick up too much at once.

Staying Power: Not good.  These colors are so creamy that they fade really fast without primer. Maybe 2-3 hours max if used alone, especially that soft lilac color.

Colors/Pay-Off: Good! Pretty good indeed, especially the brown and beige colors.  The lilac is the least pigmented (and fades the soonest) but the other two glide on really nicely.  It's too bad they're not long lasting.  I really like the strong shimmer on all of them, even though I wish the color had more complexity to them.

Blendability: Excellent. Blends really smoothly.  And that little chip of purple was a chunk of shadow my nail left behind -_- not really the shadow's fault.

Good:
- Good color pay off.
- Blends well.
- Really wearable for everyday.
- Sturdy packaging.
- Texture is really creamy and smooth.
- The lilac is light and shimmery enough to ensure you never look like you've been "punched in the face, " which I think is a problem that happens often with purple shadows ^_^

Bad:
- Not long lasting, colors fade fast.
- Among the most dupable colors I've ever seen -_- So common, except for the lilac I suppose.
Overall
Price-wise, it's slightly more expensive than Maybelline I think - Maybelline Quads run $6-7 for 4 colors, $4-5 for trios - but I do think the Almay formula is little better and they give more of each color.  There's more color payoff in Almay and the texture is distinctly creamier.  Yet both Maybelline & Almay are not very long lasting (aka 4-5 hours w/o primer. 6-7 w/ primer).   In the end, I think it all comes down to whether you want the colors in the palette or not ^^ Overall, all the weaknesses can be worked with easily enough and as a drugstore brand, this palette is really not bad at all.  I recommend these for peeps looking for colors with slight shimmer, no fuss, and want easily wearable colors since it's pretty hard to mess up with such blendable, neutral colors.

However, personally, I wouldn't buy an Almay palette unless I fell in love with a particular color.  I happen to like Maybelline shadow palettes better strictly because they are a lot better at putting color mixes together and offer both shimmery and matte shades all in one palette.  All the colors in these iColor palettes appear shimmery and the colors are so very basic - great for those looking for everyday slightly shimmery looks (the shimmer mostly blends out), but not for me ^_^  I generally find the Almay colors a little uninspired :P (though I don't really blame them, these palettes are supposed to be for everyday looks) and three colors in one palette isn't enough for me.

Also quick OPI Black Shatter alert!  Pretty & Cute just stocked the whole OPI Katy Perry collection - most importantly, 20 bottles of Black Shatter for only $7 each (UPDATE 2/10: Price raised to $9/each).  I know people are just hankering for this so I just thought I'd let you guys know xD  Speaking of shatter nail polishes - if you're just not feeling Black Shatter or keep missing out on it - fear not cuz China Glaze is releasing their own Crackle Collection!

It's been released already in some places but somehow it doesn't seem to be generating as much hype :\  Basically CG Black Mesh is identical to OPI Black Shatter and the other shades are colorful versions of Black Shatter.  I personally am poking over Lightening Bolt and Cracked Concrete since I think those neutral shades would go well with lots of colors :}

So yep, I hope that this update makes up for not updating as often these days~

Review: Rimmel Airy Fairy lipstick

Or officially, the Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick, 070 Airy Fairy.   Honestly, my lips (or rather, my skin tone) are so weird sometimes.  Rimmel's Airy Fairy is one of the most raved about lipsticks - it's supposedly one of the most universally flattering lipcolors out there and with a lot of Asians standing behind it (I say this as in: since they're Asian and I'm Asian, I assume colors they like will probably be flattering on me too), I finally went out and bought it.  Unfortunately, it's one of the most unflattering lipcolors I've had the misfortune to try.  It ranks right up there with NYX Thalia and NYX Rea in terms of hideous-ness on me :\ I didn't swatch it on my lips (forgot) but as you can see on my hand, somehow the muted coral pink turns a bruised blue-purple on my skin -_-

Pigmentation: Pretty good.  Buildable too.
Long-lasting? Not really. Won't last a meal, lasts 3-4 hours alone.
Finish: A slight creamy finish.  Nice, modest shine.
Texture: Creamy and smooth. Applies evenly.
Scent: A mild artificial candy scent. Not bad as drugstore lipsticks go, quite tolerable.
Taste: Yuck. Tastes like plastic.
Packaging: I'm not crazy about the crown embedded in the cap, but overall it looks modest and practical.   Sturdy enough.
Cost: $5-6 @ Walmart.
Overall: Doesn't sink into to fine lines and it's not drying (though it's not moisturizing either).  Obviously, I'd never buy it again though b/c of the the color on me :\

I don't particularly blame the lipstick as much as myself ahah but it does tell me that my skintone must be somehow quite different from Xteeener, Frmheadtotoe, and Rainy Days & Lattes :(  cuz on me it looks NOTHING like what it looks like on them (they get a pink-gold finish).   It got a 4.0/5.0 on Makeup Alley too, so I'm clearly in the minority when it comes this lipstick *sigh* however, if you look at the low ratings, there are some that say that it turns grey/purple on them too.  This seems to happen to both warm and cool-toned people so I can't really pinpoint why exactly...  If you know, please enlighten me!

Anyway, I returned this puppy since I don't see it working out for me (ever) and if anybody else has had this purple-lips experience with this lipstick too - let me know! We may be skin undertone twins ^_^!

UPDATE...perhaps an answer to the mystery:

My lips are pretty damn dark (plum-red to bright pink, though I'm a NC25) so maybe that's why Airy Fairy is so purple-y on me whereas I love peachy orange-corals like NYX Pumpkin Pie?

A Simple (Lunar) New Year Makeup Tutorial

So yeah...I recorded this in December with every intention of posting it on 12/31/2010. Oh well. ahaha I did say procrastination was one of my New Year Resolutions ^_^  Also it surprises me a bit that people are more interested in seeing wearable, every day looks (see poll to right..and vote ^_~), but I guess it's just because I personally enjoy watching more costume-y tutorials xD  Anyway, here is my stab at a wearable look (ironically, for a holiday when most people wear dramatic, party looks hehe).  I had a mild cold in this video so sorry if I sound a little "sleepy" :}

Products Used:
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
Maybelline Charcoal Smokes Quad
Maybelline Designer Chocolates
Koji Dolly Wink Liquid Liner in Black
* UD Uzi (optional)
* UD Maui Wowie (optional)
Maybelline The Falsies Mascara in Black
UD 24/7 Glide Pencil in Lucky
Lioele Silky Highlighter BB Touch
NYX Mosaic Blush in Dare
Etude House Dear Darling Lipstick in Coral Shine 07
The All Natural Face lipgloss in Aztec Gold

* =  from UD Book of Shadows 3

I dunno why the pic on the left turned out so green and the right so yellow :P   Colors are most accurate in face shots.  Anyway, I was aiming to create a wearable, but still celebratory look that blended berry reds, silvers, and golds~ The colors were inspired by how Chinese believe red and gold is lucky and how white and silver are supposed to "rabbit year" colors.

In any case, I really like the Maybelline Expert Wear Quads, they're so...useful.  Plus they're easy to get your paws on in drugstores/online and cheap to boot :D!  I snagged two of mine at a BOGO 50% sale at Walgreens, thanks to Sisi Sparkles who posts drugstore sales every week. I own three Maybelline Quads: Charcoal Smokes, Natural Smokes, and Designer Chocolates. I used two of them in this tut :}  I have fantasies of owning ALL the quads, but since I just picked up the UD Naked Palette *sigh* I will have to refrain from getting any more "neutral" palettes.

The red crease color from Maybelline's Designer Chocolates also really strikes me as a dupe for the burnished red/berry color in the NARS Cheyenne duo.

Temptalia's swatch makes it seem like NARS Cheyenne's is a wee bit on the brown side and more pigmented.  I can't say for sure though since I've never seen the duo in real life.  But Maybelline's red crease color in just about the only red-ish eye shadow I can work with - it's a soft, shimmery berry red color, it's the whole reason I purchased that palette.  I'll be doing a collective review of Maybelline Quads so I'll do swatches then :}

To amp up the look, of course, I whipped out my trusty UD Book of Shadows III!

Uzi and Maui Wowie are glittery shades and have a bit of fallout. Not bad though :) I consider these colors "optional" colors for this look though, the red crease color is really the showpiece ^_^

And yes, I cut my hair. I regret it so much. I asked the hair dresser to trim off 2-3 inches and she chopped off SIX inches within seconds of saying, "Nah, 3 isn't enough, you have too much hair." *snipsnip* Me: O_O?!  It was so much hair it looked like a small possum had died behind my chair.

Ugh, the trials of getting your hair cut by one of your mom's friends - I swear that Korean ahjummas are fully content to make decisions FOR you whether they're your mom or not if you're below the age of 30.  I should've just gone to my trusty (and more expensive) hair stylist.  All I'd wanted was to trim off my split ends, retouch my bangs, grow my hair for 2-3 more months, snip off the whole shebang to donate, and get a bob cut -___-  Now I have to grow my hair out again for another year to donate (minimum hair length is 10 in) and I am deeply unsatisfied with my hair. For one thing she didn't thin my hair so my head still feels "heavy" and my hair is even frizzier O_O   And while it still feels heavy and unmanagable, I am much more limited with the hair styles I can do.  I miss having my tumble of hair to play with. Now I shed just as much, my hair is frizzier, and I am stuck doing braids and little pony tails.  Whine, whine, bitch n moan *sigh*   I'm such a baby. I know hair grows back, but I miss my little cape of hair :(

Ok, enough of that xP  Time to go eat some macarons and drool over Iron Chef reruns!

Review: More Boscia, CO Bigelow, & Revlon

Ahh, I got so lazy after New Years (oh no!), so it took me few days to get up off my butt and finish editing this video.  It's got a lot more text in it than usual O_o or maybe that's just me...

Boscia Luminizing Black Mask

Definitely by far my personal favorite and the most asked-about product I've mentioned so far :D

Purchased: $34 @ Sephora & Bosica
This jet black, mineral-rich peel-off mask delivers powerful detoxifying, purifying, and brightening results as it exfoliates skin and refines pores. Dead skin, impurities and excess oil are stripped away along with the dried mask for immediate and visible results.

Benefits include:
• Dramatic improvement in skin's clarity and radiance. Skin is brighter and smoother.
• Impurities, bacteria and excess oil are drawn out.
• Powerful antioxidants to prevent free-radical damage, such as lines, wrinkles, dryness and dullness.
• Reduced skin roughness and minimized lines and wrinkles, resulting in younger-looking skin.
I previously mentioned in my December Favorites video that I like how this removes white/blackheads while several reviewers have specifically said that this does not remove blackheads. So, I would like to clarify:
1.) This mask will NOT remove blackheads if you just use it after simply washing your face.
2.) To reduce blackheads with this mask takes 2-3 rounds AND you must steam your face beforehand each time.  Aka it's a labor-intensive process but it has worked very well to reduce the blackheads not just on my nose, but also on my cheeks.  Keep in mind you can't expect miracles - you need to do this 1-2x a week for a month to legitimately see blackhead reduction.  For me, it was well worth it.  Especially since this mask is quite expensive, I wanted to get the most benefit out of it as I could.
Good:
- Really effective whether or not you steam your face.
- Definitely luminizing and helps skin turnover.
- Seems harsh yet had NO breakouts.
- Saw definite immediate and long term improvements.  Scar lightening (after 3-4 uses) and fantastic improvement in skin texture and tone right away.
- Saw white/blackhead reduction after 2-3 uses.

Bad:
- Pricey at $34.
- Must use a lot of product at once.
- Can't put this over inflamed acne and open lesions.
- Quite drying without moisturizing.

Here is the process I follow each time I use this mask. The simpler version was in the video, this is a more in depth step-by-step.

How I Use the Boscia Luminzing Black Mask:
1.) Boil water. I use an automatic tea kettle ^_^ Have a bowl with a small, clean washcloth ready.

2.) When water is boiled, pour the boiling water into the bowl with the washcloth in it. Let the washcloth sit in the boiling water for 5-10 minutes.  This will help sanitize the washcloth further, besides it'll be too hot for your face.

3.) During those 5-10 minutes you are waiting for the water to cool, put a damp towel (it'll hold the heat/steam in better) over your head and steam your face.  It'll be bit hard to breathe and you should be sweating inside a minute.

4.) When the water is cool enough for you to hold the washcloth, it's time to massage your face.  The water should still be steaming and kind of hurt (not BURN) your fingers when you are holding it.  Pinching the hot washcloth in your fingers, gently place it on your face. I like to just lay the hot cloth on my face and press gently.  I do this until the water is just lukewarm.  Do not scrub, DAB the cloth on your face.  Hot water helps kill bacteria and "opens" your pores.

FYI: Pores do not open/close like stoma on a plant :P It's a common misconception, but what steaming/using a hot cloth does is soften the dirt in the pore so that it comes out easier.

6.) Apply the Boscia Black Mask right away.  Avoid your eyebrows and make sure your hair is pulled back. This thing will yank out any hairs you get it on so be careful :P   You need to apply a thick layer so that you can peel it off all in one sheet ^_^

7.) Wait till mask dries completely, which takes 20-30 minutes.  The edges will dry first and the cheek areas will dry last.

8.) When the mask is completely dry, pick at the edges and peelllllll~!

Look at all those white heads and skin flakes O_O!

9.) Your face is going to be pink afterwards.  Use toner to take off the last bits of the black mask.  Stubborn bits may have to be rinsed off.  Then apply serum, essence etc. The only truly critical step is - you must apply moisturizer especially if it's winter.  Just blob on the moisturizer to be on the safe side.  Now you're done!

So, yeah. Like I said, it's a pretty intensive process.  As they say...no pain, no beauty :\  After 2-3 rounds aka 2-3 weeks though, you should start seeing definite, long term improvements in the pore/blackhead department, maybe in even scar lightening.   If you're someone who touches your face a lot though - that's a habit you're going to have to break before you want to see any long term improvement.

CO Bigelow Mentha Lipgloss

Purchased: $7.50 @ Bath & Body Works
Our mint-infused lip balm provides a glossy high shine with a refreshing cooling sensation.  Lips stay moist and protected while peppermint oil gives breath a long-lasting freshness.
Good:
- High shine.
- Lovely minty scent and flavor.
- Breath freshening.
- Nice tingling sensation.

Bad:
- Slightly sticky.
- No staying power.
- SLIPS OFF MY LIPS :P and makes it look like I'm drooling...

Apparently this is America's #1 selling lipgloss. But all I have to say is....not for me.  It slips off my lips and makes it look like I'm drooling :P  The shininess is nice but it looks even more "drool-like" when it's not on your lips.   The extreme minty-ness is excellent (I love peppermint) and does disguise bad breath for like....five minutes, but overall, it ain't worth it because it doesn't stay on my lips at all. Plus it's definitely sticky, something I hate in lip products.  I think it's kind of a hyped item honestly, surely there are other high-shine, minty glosses out there....

Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation in Buff 150

Purchased: $10-12 @ Walmart/other drugstores
Specially formulated for combination or oily skin, this oil-free formula helps control shine all day and gives you flawless looking skin. Makeup looks fresh and feels great for up to 16 hours thanks to the lightweight, comfortable feel from the SoftFlex ColorStay™ formula.   20 colors available.
Good:
- Decent price for a "photogenic" foundation.
- Doesn't oxidize too badly.
- Nice silky application. Blends well.
- Dewey finish.
- Smells alright.
- Wide color selection (20 colors).
- Medium-full coverage.
- Buildable.
- Lasts a respectable 7-9 hours.

Bad:
- Prone to caking.
- It starts off as a dewy finish but on some days I get an oil slick on my face :P  Lack of oil-control is what it is I guess.
- Weak product design, sometimes foundation just POURS out of the bottle.

Not much to say about this beyond what I said in the video.  I don't use this very often because I use BBcream daily (all are SPF 30+), so I only use this when I want to take pictures since it only has SPF 6.  In other words, this is my "camera-friendly" foundation.  I mainly use this because it has a subtle dewy finish without making me look oily on camera, has good coverage, low SPF, and is decently priced.  I don't recommend this for people why want a "daily-wear" foundation since it has no SPF. But for for those looking for a camera-ready foundation, this would be a good option since there are a ton of colors to pick from and won't oxidize while you're taking pics :)

Review: Face Cleanser Comparison (Boscia VS Neutrogena)

This is actually a two part review because I figured the cleanser comparison should just be one video & post ^_^ Just to keep things tidier and shorter~

I'm on a serious Boscia fix right now - I was so impressed with the Boscia Luminizing Black Mask (review coming up in Part 2 aka the next post) that I binged on a bunch of Boscia products with the Boscia $10 off $30 off sale.   So there will a lot of Bosica reviews coming up ^_^ Anyway, this cleanser was my first try at a "higher end" aka non-drugstore, non-bar-of-soap for removing makeup attempt.  I was looking for makeup cleanser that cleans AND removes makeup in one step (I'm too lazy to do an oil-cleansing step and a cleansing step every day :P).

Bosica is all about no preservative, very gentle and as natural as possible - and while people can be just as a allergic to something "natural" as to something artificial - I had no breakouts and I felt this was a very gentle yet effective product.  I won't rehash everything I said in the video, but overall I think the Bosica Purifying Gel is a good cleanser for people with sensitive skin not on a tight budget.  This does remove all my face makeup in one step (BBcream, concealer, and setting powder), but this will NOT remove eyeliner (I tried MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack and Urban Decay pencil in Zero), so you will need to use eye makeup remover.  However, it does remove Koji Dolly Wink Liquid Liner and most eye shadows.  Otherwise, this helps you get as much makeup off your face as possible at once without irritation.

This bottle is rather small and one is tempted to use more than 1 pump at a time since it seems so mild, so this runs out in 2-3 months.  Speaking of, don't be tempted to use a lot of pumps...this cleanser is a clear gel and you need to lather it up first to get enough to cover your face.  Foam up your cleanser before you decided to use more.

The Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser claims to:
Fresh Foaming Cleanser is a cleanser and makeup remover in one.
Removing makeup before you go to bed has never been easier. This dermatologist-tested formula effectively removes dirt, oil and makeup. It even removes eye makeup, without soaps or oils that can sting or irritate the sensitive eye area. No more raccoon eyes! It rinses completely and won't leave any pore-clogging residue. Forget the excuses and get refreshingly clean skin and complete makeup removal in one step.
- Soap-free
- Oil-free
- Non-comedogenic (won't clog pores)
- Hypoallergenic
I need to wash my face 2x at least to remove just BBcream, concealer, and setting powder.  It definitely does not remove eye makeup in general, though it does remove lighter eyeshadows.  It  does not irritate my face or cause breakouts, but I feel that it "strips" my face and is a little drying.  It doesn't leave a residue though.  What really turns me off this product is the scent (and appearance); it looks and smells like a cheap handwash soap you use in public restrooms :\  It doesn't seem to harm my face but the experience isn't that great.  Also, this doesn't lather any better than the Boscia Cleansing Gel.  This is a problem since Neutrogena's cleanser specifically advertises itself as a foaming cleanser whereas the Boscia cleanser is just a gel.  It's not a huge deal, but it irks me a little.

Anyway, let's just cut the chase and keep this post as short as possible ^_^

Overall, both are quite "usable" though I much prefer the Boscia - which I should considering the price!  However, even though the Boscia is effective, I still will be keeping an eye out for a cheaper cleanser that is comparable to the Boscia.  After I'm done with this bottle, I'll be back on the hunt for the perfect makeup remover + cleansing in one!  I have my reservations about finding my dream cleanser though :P there's a reason the "Asian skincare regime" involves double cleansing :(....
